Abrasion Resistant Linings
Abrasion Resistant 1

Greenbank Terotech Pty Ltd has built up an unrivalled knowledge and method of utilising abrasion resistant products introducing to the market the many advantages and cost savings that can be obtained by the use.
The company’s range has been expanded from initial Cast Basalt products to meet all the needs of the materials handling industries and today offers a complete equipment protection service incorporating as required Alumina Ceramics, Silicon Carbides, Basalt, Trowel-on compounds and all the necessary fixing cements.

Most important, Greenbank has the know-how gained by experience to design and manufacture the equipment to be lined, and then to apply the lining materials cost effectively.

Industrial Applications
Wear resistant ceramics including basalt, alumina and silicon carbides have until fairly recently, been used most extensively in heavy industry where the applications are obvious and on a large scale. However, more and more industries are finding these materials a solution to their abrasion problems, and the knowledge gained in heavy industry is proving useful in various fields.

Should you wish to be put in touch with a basalt or ceramic user in your business, we shall be happy to arrange it wherever possible.

Wear resistant ceramics are currently proving their value in the following industries:

  Aluminium
Animal Feeds
Asbestos
Bricks
Cement
China Clay
Coal
Construction
Dredging
Fertilisers
Food
Galvanising
General Engineering
Gold

Basalt Tiles

Cast Basalt
Is a neovolcanic eruptive rock which melts at approximately 1250°C, and can be cast in a similar way to cast iron. After a carefully controlled annealing process the resultant cast material, whilst retaining the typical qualities has the following notable characteristics: Extraordinary abrasion resistance and acid and alkali resistance.

High Alumina Ceramics
Are pressed, extruded or injection moulded, then fired to produce a product extremely resistant to impact and abrasion.

Silicon Carbide
Is abrasion and corrosion resistant, has high thermal conductivity and superior thermal shock resistance. Complex shapes, including threads, can be formed.

Greenpatch
Was developed to assist the engineer to combat and cut maintenance costs. It is a specially formulated epoxy resin with ceramic filler.

Adhesives:
-HM301 is a high grade thixotropic polyester resin cement which has been used successfully for many years.
-Megapoxy PM is a two part quality epoxy particularly suitable where extra adhesive strength is required.

Other Materials
The above materials are only some of those used and not a comprehensive list - others are incorporated for specific duties.
New materials become available from time to time and the company constantly seeks improved products.
