Aerotech Bonded Alumina Ceramics
on Exhauster Systems & Fans
Greenbank Terotech specialises in solving your unique wear problems by engineering, manufacturing, and installing customised protective systems made of the world’s toughest materials. As a leader in developing and manufacturing engineered ceramic components to fit virtually any type of equipment, we design wear protection systems for complex industrial material handling applications ranging from large cyclones in coal-fired power plants and steel mills to processing equipment used in pharmaceutical clean rooms, food processing plants, pulp and paper mills, and cement plants. Regardless of the size and shape of your equipment or the material to be handled, we have the solution for your wear problem. Ceramic Lined Exhauster Fan

Tackling Industrial Abrasion
Greenbank Terotech ceramic-lined exhauster systems and fans solve one of the most severe abrasive problems encountered in industry - excessive equipment wear caused by transporting pulverised materials through exhauster fans. The strength of Greenbank’s wear protection lies in the development of our advanced ceramic material, our exclusive bonding processes, and our computer design capabilities. Our expertise enables us to add value and performance to your finished product that others cannot.

Our Industrial Workhorse: Alumina Ceramic
Although we work with many different compounds to solve complex wear problems, one of the most frequently specified is Greenbank’s own pre-engineered, custom-made alumina ceramic - one of nature’s toughest materials. The fine-grained, high-grade alumina is made from exceptionally pure, uniformly controlled alpha aluminium oxide and is engineered to be one of the best wear materials available for fine particle abrasion.

Bonding Makes the Difference
Greenbank are now able to offer the unique Aero-tech bonding technology, a process that provides optimum fracture toughness and high temperature bond strength, producing components with the wear resistance of ceramic and the impact resistance of steel. Aero-tech designs decrease the overall weight of systems because our exclusive process enables us to reduce the thickness of steel by replacing a portion of the thickness with alumina, which is fifty percent lighter. Used on rotating components, Aero-tech bonding allows ceramic-lined blades to flex and bend.

Elbows, bull noses, door assemblies, and other non-rotating components of exhauster systems are lined with alumina ceramic using one of five Greenbank attachment methods, depending on factors such as temperature, impact, abrasion, and the material to be handled. Plain tile combined with an epoxy adhesive imparts strength and over time, a smoother surface than other processes. Weldable tile with silicone adhesive provides strength through a mechanical bond where each tile is attached with a welded steel retainer.

As a recognised leader in ceramic bonding, we know which attachment methods work best under specific conditions. And finally, during the critical installation phase of production, our technicians have the knowledge and experience to apply protective materials correctly so that your wear system will maintain its integrity.

Pre-engineering Means Longer Wear Life
Our expertise the latest technology in CAD/CAM equipment and programs, and our unique shaping capabilities give Greenbank engineers a technical edge. One of our major strengths is in
custom-engineering ceramic shapes in their pre-fired state. Pre-engineering eliminates the need to make
end-line alterations and allows for a more precise fit between individual tiles and rows of tiles, providing full ceramic protection throughout the thickness of the joint. The result is maximum wear performance for your industrial system.

The Greenbank Terotech Advantage

Our superior grade of alumina resists abrasion better than common wear-resistant solutions. It is impervious to most corrosive substances; is non-brittle, and therefore impact resistant, when applied with our exclusive Aero-tech bonding process; and is less expensive than traditional materials over the life-cycle of equipment when downtime, replacement costs and equipment availability are considered. Greenbank expertise has extended average life of systems from four to six months to at least three years or more.

With the blade’s lighter weight, Greenbank systems can lower energy costs as well. Also, the uniform characteristics of our ceramic promote even wear enabling fans to operate more efficiently over time.

One Of A Kind
Each Greenbank system is custom-designed, manufactured, and installed to meet your specific requirements. Our engineers select ceramics, bonding materials, and application methods that will provide optimum protection in your environment. Simply give us your specifications, and we will design a system that is right for you.

With our commitment to quality and our reputation for excellence in the industry, you can count on Greenbank Terotech for full support in every step of the process and have confidence that our product will meet the challenge of the most complex industrial wear problems.
